Associate Copy Editor (Remote)

Position Overview:
This position acts as the editor on a portfolio of client accounts, working directly with the client service team to create award-winning edited content for the client. The associate editor plays a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our work and is a core member of the team. The associate editor is responsible for editing a variety of content including blogs, long-form pieces, email, landing pages, and other miscellaneous copy.
The Day-to-Day:
- Deliver flawless edited copy in the form of blogs, e-books, case studies, headlines, web copy, emails, social, and more
- Edit copy for style, grammar, logic, flow, repetition, and to ensure its on strategy
- Maintain client editing preferences and ensure all edited content follows those preferences
- Review and update SmartBugs style guide to ensure it is an up-to-date resource beneficial to the entire organization
- Edit for both Chicago and AP styles, as needed
- Support your team to make sure deadlines are met
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship is required
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience with copy editing
- B.A. or B.S. degree is required; journalism or related field preferred
- Experience with the correct use of references and citations
- Experience editing B2B, technology, and/or finance content preferred
- Experience working remotely in similar roles preferred
