Product Sustaining Development Engineer

To meet our current development needs we are accepting applications for an embedded development engineer in the role of Product Sustaining Development Engineer. Reporting to our VP of Engineering, the Product Sustaining Development Engineer will maintain our existing and future field hardware product portfolio through all product life cycle stages after initial release, ensuring our products meet the functional and quality needs of our customers and corrosion market.
Core Responsibilities
Design ancillary hardware platforms for released product applications including schematic capture and board layout and C++ coding of ARM platform
Design and code microcontroller routines for released products requiring minor feature additions or bug fixes
Design and code PC applications that support configuration of hardware platforms
Design and build production test jigs for new and existing products
Documentation of all key design and coding projects
Continuous improvement of released products by changing the design to improve reliability, manufacturability and/or cost
Perform procedures to properly document product updates and changes via the ECO system
Release updated products via ECO system
Work with Manufacturing Process Engineer in the resolution of problems that occur during production and test processes
Initiate failure analysis, root cause and corrective actions for product RMAs
Determine and validate accuracy requirements and specifications for all hardware platforms
Adopt agile methodology and development processes
Core Competencies
Minimum 4 year bachelors degree in electronics engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited university
10+ years of experience in analog and digital hardware design
10+ years of experience in embedded C/C++ development environment
Extensive knowledge of microprocessor peripherals and driver design
Thorough knowledge of wireless protocols
Self-driven to take ownership of project developments
Good decision making, problem solving abilities based on analytical/statistical approaches
Excellent oral and written communications
Ability to work under minimal supervision
