Core Infrastructure Services SRE scales and operates a portfolio of systems that provide secure access to, and fundamental underpinnings of, Twitters infrastructure. In this role, you will serve Twitter by ensuring the reliability of these systems and helping ensure that they meet growth needs in an innovative hybrid on-prem and cloud environment.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers who are working to keep Twitter reliable and scalable. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Empower each of the members of your team to grow, thrive, and find fulfillment in their work. Align the teams capabilities and interests with the companys needs.
Engage technically on dealing with production incidents and in driving execution on project work.
Partner with peer managers and senior leaders to find collaborative solutions to wide-ranging challenges, often with ambiguous ownership boundaries.
Represent your team effectively in roadmap discussions, priority setting, and postmortems.
Influence the technical and cultural development of broader organizations, including Infrastructure Automation, SRE, and Platform Engineering.
Raise the bar for provable reliability, quality, and security.
Plan a sustainable roadmap with measurably valuable but realistically attainable goals. Deliver durable, systematic improvements.
Use data to make informed decisions about priorities, and to measure the cost of problems and the impact of solutions.

Who You Are
Your professional qualifications include:
5+ years of software engineering, SRE, or technology operations engineering experience in a highly customer-focused environment.
3+ years experience successfully leading a team of 5-8 engineers, in a role that included both production support and project delivery responsibilities.
a proven track record of leading geographically distributed teams, ensuring all members are well integrated.
Concrete experience turning an ambiguous set of business requirements into a roadmap, and driving it successful execution in an environment where the stakes are significant.
Ability to write code in at least one language. You are comfortable reviewing both functional implementation and tests.
Take enjoyment in anticipating how systems fail, how failure can be designed for, how it can be monitored and what constitutes good SLIs.
Skilled in communicating, in appropriate technical depth, with a variety of audiences, from engineers to upper management.
Having a passion for automation!
Desired Additional Qualifications
Experience in foundational infrastructural services, such as DNS.
Familiarity with security concepts such as principle of least privilege and ephemeral access.
Hands-on experience with at least one public Cloud computing service.
